Earlier this week, President Trump divulged that he is willing to forego seeking funding from Congress to begin construction of his signature effort, a wall along the southern border of the United States.
The decision is being considered an 11th-hour compromise to prevent a stalemate between Democrats and Republicans on the passage of a spending bill.
This feels to many Trump supporters like one more chink in a list of compromises; although, the president vows to insert the funding request into the 2018 budget. But, will he then find himself in the same spot again?
