Television host Stephen Colbert was slammed on social media after making vulgar jokes about President Trump, which many are calling homophobic, in his monologue Monday night.
“The Late Show” star censured Trump without restraint after the president’s sudden exit from an interview over the weekend with Colbert’s CBS colleague, “Face the Nation” host John Dickerson.
The hashtag #FireColbert erupted almost immediately, but, so far, there has been no word that this will happen.
After languishing in second place since taking over “The Late Show” for David Letterman, Colbert’s show has been the No. 1 syndicated program on late night TV for 13 weeks running, during which time the host has grown increasingly hostile toward the nation’s 45th president.
Last night, Colbert told his audience that he remains the host of the show and has no regrets for what he said about the president. You can see his monologue by clicking here. But first, please take our poll.
