POLL: Are white people treated unfairly?

Written by DML
I’m all for diversity.  As a human being, and as an employer of Americans, and as a Catholic, I do not see color, I see people.   My first girlfriend was Latino.  One of my first employees was black.   One of my best friends growing up who I still see from time to time now as an adult is Asian.  The list goes on.

But as a news person, it is impossible not to see color because the color of a person’s skin is constantly tossed into the headlines, especially if you are white.

Rarely, if ever, will the mainstream media reveal that cops kill more white people than they do blacks and hispanics. And yet there is no group called, “White Lives Matter.”  Such a group would be tagged as racist.

Recently, a group of black students held their own graduation on a college campus — no white students were permitted.  If white students ever pulled such a thing, or even tried to, they’d be expelled from the school.

This week Evergreen State College students berated a professor and called for his resignation after he objected to an event where white students were asked to leave the campus for a day.  If white students were to do such a thing to a black professor, the college would fall over from issuing apologies.

Then there’s Affirmative Action, Black History Month, and the numerous annual parades for celebrating Islam. Then of course there is the upcoming Puerto Rican Day parade here in NYC where a terrorist will be honored.

How about all those forms with the boxes to check?   If you’re a person of color there are countless grants and scholarships available.   Lets not skip over the box the box for illegal aliens who want to apply for in-state tuition. But for white people, there is no box to check.  Am I missing something, or does it appear that if you’re white you’re entitled to being ripped apart for your skin color and that’s that?

Lets be honest.  Employers should seek the best person for the job, regardless of color.  That said, if white people complain about Affirmative Action, they are racists. If someone who is white were to propose ‘White History Month’ they’d be labelled bigots.  If you complain about not having access to grants and scholarships because of your “whiteness,” you’ll be ignored.   If you are white, and you support President Trump’s proposed travel ban, then you are anti-Muslim.  If you are white and you demand we build a border wall, or if you support the deportation of illegal aliens, then you’re anti-Latino.   The ocean of headlines against white people is endless, and it will remain in place for the foreseeable future.

So the poll question of the day is hard hitting, but one that needs to be asked?  Are white people treated unfairly?
