On Friday, President Trump signed an executive order titled “PROTECTING the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry into the United States.”
As a result of the order, multiple Iraqi refugees were detained at JFK airport in New York City on Saturday afternoon. This caused protests to break out at JFK and at airports across the nation.
On Saturday evening, a judge in Brooklyn, NY, issued a temporary stay on Trump’s orders, essentially blocking the detentions of immigrants arriving to U.S. airports with valid visas.
The ACLU has launched a lawsuit against the president, and politicians like Hillary Clinton are using the protests as a means of pointing a light on themselves by criticizing the president’s orders as un-American.
