On Jan. 27, one week after being sworn in as the 45th president of the United States, President Trump signed a hallmark executive order, titled “Protection Of The Nation From Foreign Terrorist Entry Into The United States.”

The order seeks to establish measures of “extreme vetting” of all immigrants. It temporarily suspends immigration from seven countries with ties to terrorism, while halting the admission of refugees from the country of Syria, indefinitely.

Exactly one week later, on Feb. 3, a federal judge in Seattle issued a nationwide temporary restraining order blocking President Trump’s action, barring the executive order.

Over the weekend, the Justice Department filed an appeal with the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco stating it’s the “sovereign prerogative” of a president to admit or exclude aliens. However, the court instructed that a counter-response to the restraining order be filed Monday afternoon.

The higher court’s denial of an immediate stay means the legal battles will continue for days, at least.

Please take our poll – With all of the lawsuits and rulings pending against the president’s executive order, do you think it will be reinstated?
