POLL: Will the GOP run a 2020 primary challenger to Trump?

Written by DML

Fox News is reporting that several high-profile, moderate Republicans have begun publicly speculating about the possibility that President Donald J. Trump could face a primary challenger when he seeks re-election in 2020.

First, let me say that Fox News is a network, and a brand, that is no longer what it once was. Riddled with scandals and bad press, the aging network lacks the great talent it used to offer, and it continues to rely on the same guests that add no new insight or value.

The biggest indication of this is that they are showing signs of being anti-Trump. Most of their shows find a way to poke fun at the president. And even those people who pretend on-air to be pro-Trump – one example being Brian Kilmeade of “Fox & Friends” – are rumored to be slamming President Trump in the green room. According to two of my very reliable sources within the network, upper management wants the cheering for Trump to stop. But they want to do it in such a way that doesn’t completely kill ratings.

That said, this poll isn’t about Fox News, or whether they are reporting correctly. The question is about Trump, the GOP, and the 2020 election. SIDE NOTE: There is no question in my mind, this FOX report is influenced by the GOP and its connections to Fox News.

Some people, like myself, say President Trump is doing a good job despite the lack of support he is getting in D.C. and the media. Others say he is wounded beyond repair, and when the results of the Russia probe are in, things could get worse.

If Trump can’t get anything through Congress, and if the press continues to rip into him every day, some people believe the GOP could decide to run someone against him in 2020.

Therefore, we ask you: Do you think the GOP is so odious that it will run a primary opponent against Trump in 2020?  (NOTE: If you cannot see the poll below, exit your FB app and type in your browser: DennisMichaelLynch.com/poll2020/
