Portions of President Trump’s speech to Muslim leaders released

President Trump is expected to give a compelling speech on Sunday to high profile Muslim leaders about fighting Islamic extremism and terrorism.

In the upcoming speech, Trump will address an audience in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to call for unity against terrorism. The leaders of 50 Muslim-majority countries are expected to be in attendance, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

A portion from the draft of his expected speech can be read below:

“Our goal is a coalition of nations who share the aim of stamping out extremism and providing our children a hopeful future that does honor to God. Our friends will never question our support, and our enemies will never doubt our determination. America is prepared to stand with you – in pursuit of shared interests and common security.”

The speech also heavily emphasizes on unity between the U.S. and the eastern world:

“This is not a battle between different faiths, different sects, or different civilizations. And it means standing together against the murder of innocent Muslims, the oppression of women, the persecution of Jews, and the slaughter of Christians.”

Following his prepared speech in Riyadh, President Trump and his team will travel to Israel. Other intended destinations include a trip to Brussels for a NATO summit and Italy to meet with the Pope.  He rounds out his trip at the G-7 Summit.
