The countdown has been running all day Tuesday, in anticipation of President Donald Trump’s announcement of his nominee for the Supreme Court.

President Trump’s nominee will replace Justice Scalia, who passed away February 13, 2016.

This decision is said to potentially be the most important of his entire presidency, as it will determine the future of the Supreme Court for years.

President Trump announced that his choice as Supreme Court Nominee is Judge Neil Gorsuch, a conservative judge who sits on the Colorado-based Tenth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.  If confirmed, Gorsuch, 49, will be the youngest member of the Supreme Court.

In announcing his choice, President Trump stated, “When Justice Scalia passed away last February, I made a promise to the American people.  I promised to find someone who respects our laws, who loves our constitution.”

“The qualifications of Judge Gorsuch are beyond dispute,” said President Trump.

Watch President Trump’s announcement and Judge Gorsuch’s speech in the video below, which occurred Tuesday at 8:00 pm ET.
