CNN released the results of a new poll Monday morning asking how Americans feel about President Trump’s “travel restrictions” in his executive order of last week.

The president has already taken to Twitter in response to the poll.

CNN’s poll claimed that 53 percent of all Americans are opposed to Trump’s executive order, while 47 percent agreed with it.

The executive order is a 90-day ban that would prevent citizens from seven middle eastern countries with ties to terror from entering the United States until a better vetting system can be implemented.

The order also halts the refugee program for 120 days and approximately cuts in half the number of refugees the United States will accept in 2017.

According to CNN’s poll, 55 percent of Americans viewed the executive order as a Muslim ban, and 60 percent are opposed to Trump’s plans to build a wall on the southern border.

President Trump wasted no time tweeting out what he thought of the poll. About 30 minutes after the poll was publicized, he fired back.

“Any negative polls are fake news, just like the CNN, ABC, NBC polls in the election. Sorry, people want border security and extreme vetting,” Trump tweeted.

“I call my own shots, largely based on an accumulation of data, and everyone knows it.  Some FAKE NEWS media, in order to marginalize, lies!”
