President Trump completes overseas trip, returns to D.C.

Wrapping up a nine-day journey that took him to Saudi Arabia, Israel, Rome, Belgium and Italy, President Trump returned to the United States Saturday night.

It was his first overseas trip as President of the United States, and Trump summarized it in a speech in Italy earlier in the day as a “home run.”

Speaking at the Sigonella Naval Air Station in Sicily, he said, “But we have been gone for close to nine days. This will be nine days. And I think we hit a home run no matter where we are.”

Air Force One landed at Joint Base Andrews about 9 p.m. ET Saturday evening, where President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump exited the plane in the darkness and boarded the Marine One helicopter for the short trip to the White House.

Reportedly, the President is scheduled to attend a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery on Sunday.
