President Trump honors Passover and Easter in weekly address

President Trump released an inspirational message of hope in his weekly address to the American people Friday and focused on the important issue of religious freedom.

“My fellow Americans, this is a season of great hope. This week, Jewish families across our country and around the world celebrate Passover and retell the story of the deliverance of God’s people,” Trump began.

He said the story of the exodus is a story of freedom and spoke of the great persecution the Jewish people have endured.

He also recognized Easter Sunday, “where Christians celebrate the resurrection of Christ and the promise of eternal salvation,” and confirmed that America is a nation of believers.

“From the beginning, America has been a place that has cherished the freedom of worship,” the president said.

He also asserted that the greatest threat to religious freedom is ISIS.

“I also want to give a special message to those struggling Americans who have felt for too long the bitter taste of hardship. I want you to know this White House is fighting for you,” he said.
