Shane Bouvet, a 24 year-old FedEx employee who volunteered his time campaigning for the president, opened his mail on Monday to find a $10,000 check from Donald Trump.

After meeting with Trump the night before the inauguration, the single father divulged his call to action aiding the president, which included surrendering much of his free time passing out signs and spreading Trump’s message on social media.

Bouvet, who lives in a small town in Illinois, was told he would be sent a special gift from Trump in the form of $10,000. Earlier this week, Bouvet received Trump’s promise.

“I’m still just living in a dream,” Bouvet said. “I never thought in a million years this would happen.” Trump left a note alongside the check, which read “Shane–You are a great guy–thanks for all of your help.”

Bouvet said he intends to use the money to help his father, who has been diagnosed with bladder cancer, pay for chemotherapy.
