President Trump Tweets Question Targeted Towards Protesters

An estimated 3 million people, including Democratic lawmakers and celebrities, took to the streets in cities across the world to protest President Trump on Saturday.

On Sunday, President Trump responded by going to Twitter and sending a message to his 20 million followers:

“Watched protests yesterday but was under the impression that we just had an election!” he tweeted.

“Why didn’t these people vote? Celebs hurt cause badly.”

In a subsequent tweet, he wrote, “Peaceful protests are a hallmark of our democracy. Even if I don’t always agree, I recognize the rights of people to express their views.”
