During an interview on ABC’s ‘This Week’ Sunday, Reince Priebus, incoming White House chief of staff, said that President-elect Trump does not plan on replacing FBI Director, James Comey.
“There’s no plan in this moment of changing that. We’ve had a great relationship with him over the last several weeks and he’s extremely competent,” stated Priebus.
Comey, who’s 10-year term as FBI director started in 2013, came under fire during the recent presidential race when he concluded that Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s secret and unethical email setup didn’t warrant criminal prosecution.
During a closed-door briefing on Friday, Democrats challenged Comey over Russia’s hacking of the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) email accounts, with at least one lawmaker calling on Comey to resign.
