Barbara Slavin, a pro-Iran advocate who writes for middle eastern media giant Al Monitor, was pictured Wednesday giving double middle fingers to anti-Iran dissident protesters.

Slavin, who has long taken criticism for her sympathy to the Iranian regime, appeared outside the Council for Foreign Relations event – featuring Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif – earlier this week flipping off protesters who were opposing Iran’s Islamic hardline regime. Zarif was a chief architect of the controversial Iran nuclear deal, an agreement Slavin has been known to champion.

The Iran nuclear deal is extremely unpopular among anti-Iran activists, making Slavin a target of their protests. When she came across said protesters, she flashed two middle fingers in their direction.

When confronted for her actions on Twitter, Slavin claimed the protesters were affiliated with the People’s Mujahedin of Iran, or MEK, an Iranian dissident organization that was until recently designated as a terrorist organization. She also claimed they called her “a terrorist.”
