Only weeks prior to a gunman opening fire at a GOP congressional practice for a charity baseball game, a college professor called for Republicans to be “lined up and shot.”

In a Facebook post, Dr. John Griffin, a professor of Media Arts and Animation at the Art Institute of Washington, D.C., used an expletive to sharply criticize Republican efforts to repeal Obamacare.

“Republicans are a f***ing joke and their voting block runs the gamit [sic] from monstrous to ignorant,” Griffin wrote.

On May 4, Griffin posted, “They should be lined up and shot. That is not hyperbole; blood is on their hands.”

Griffin later apologized for the post.

Griffin was joined by journalist Kurt Eichenwald who “wished death” on Republicans on May 5 because of their attempt to repeal Obamacare.

Republican Rep. Steve Scalise remains in critical condition following Wednesday’s shooting. The congressman was wounded along with several others, and the gunman is dead.
