Protesters Burn US Flag Outside Trump Hotel

In response to President-elect Donald Trump’s suggestion that anyone burning the United States flag should face consequences, protesters have brazenly burned a U.S. flag right outside one of Trump’s properties.

Activists, including members of the “Revolutionary Communist Party,” gathered outside the Trump International Hotel in New York City Tuesday and held a flag-burning.

Appalled by people who would burn the U.S. flag, Trump issued a statement earlier, saying, ““Nobody should be allowed to burn the American flag — if they do, there must be consequences — perhaps loss of citizenship or year in jail!”

And now they’ve started a “flag-burning challenge.”

Reuters has clarified that the seven members of the Revolutionary Communist Party who participated in the flag burning Tuesday night are a separate group not affiliated with the Communist Party of the United States.
