A recently proposed bill in Arkansas is requesting to remove the names of former President Bill Clinton and former First Lady Hillary Clinton from the state’s largest airport.

Four years ago, the Little Rock Airport was renamed the Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport.

Sen. Jason Rapert (R-Ark.), the man behind the bill’s proposal, believes that public buildings should not be named for anyone living or who served in public office in the 10 years prior to the structure’s completion.

“You have a president who was impeached for having an affair with an intern in the Oval Office and then disbarred,” said Sen. Rapert, who is clear in his intentions that the bill is targeting the backs of the Clintons.

In fact, Rapert claims he created the legislation because “several Arkansans across the state” had “discomfort” with naming its largest airport after the Clintons since they have been embroiled in controversy. “We can prevent this sort of thing in the future,” he said.
