White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders released a readout of a phone call that took place on Sunday between  Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald J. Trump.

Putin reportedly called Trump on Sunday morning to thank him for providing a tip which prevented a terrorist bomb plot in St. Petersburg, officials said.

The readout of the call was released via Twitter on Sunday, with Sanders writing: “Readout of President Trump’s call with President Putin,” and including an image with the readout (see tweet below).

Fox News reports:

The intelligence was reportedly a CIA tip related to a series of planned bombings.

The Kremlin said Putin told Trump during the call that the information provided by the CIA also was sufficient to track down and detain a group of suspects that was planning to bomb the Kazan Cathedral and other sites in the city.

The Kremlin says the Russian leader asked Trump to convey his gratitude to the CIA and said Russian law enforcement agencies will hand over any information they get about potential terror threats against the United States, as they have done in the past.

Another call took place between the two leaders last week, initiated by Trump. Speaking to reporters at the White House on Friday, before he left to address a graduation ceremony at the National FBI Academy, Trump said he’d spoken by phone to Putin on Thursday. He reported that the call was “great.”

He said, “The primary point was to talk about North Korea.”

“We would love to have his help on North Korea,” Trump added. “China is helping. Russia is not helping. We would like to have Russia’s help, very important.”

The Kremlin also acknowledged the call, saying the two leaders discussed US-Russia ties and North Korea.
