TLC’s “The Willis Family” reality star Toby Willis was arrested on Friday for the alleged accusations that he raped an underage girl 12 years ago in 2002. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation charged Willis for the sexual offense against a minor, and he’s currently being held without bond in the Muhlenberg County Jail on a Fugitive from Justice warrant. The press released the following statement:
“TBI Agents arrested the 46-year-old in Greenville, Kentucky, where he travelled [sic] in an effort to avoid law enforcement, and charged him with one count of Rape of a Child. The investigation into Willis remains active and ongoing.”
“The Willis Family” television show premiered last year on TLC. It follows Toby Willis, his wife Brenda and their 12 children whose names all start with the letter “J.” “TLC did not renew The Willis Family and new episodes have not aired since April 2016. We are shocked to hear this news,” the network informed media outlets.
This isn’t the first time TLC has had a controversial run in with one of their shows. Despite ridiculous programs like Honey Boo Boo, the network also had to deal with Josh Duggar of “19 Kids and Counting” being accused of inappropriately touching four of his sisters and a female non-family member also back in 2002.
