Hillary Clinton is getting advice from Senator Harry Reid about who NOT to choose as her running mate.
Reid sent a strong warning Monday to Clinton, vowing to “do whatever I can” to prevent her from choosing a Democratic senator as her running mate – from a state with a Republican governor.
He told MSNBC Monday, “If we have a Republican governor in any of those states, the answer is not only no, but hell no and I would do whatever I can, and I think most of my Democratic colleagues here would say the same thing. I would yell and scream to stop that.”
His reasoning is that the Republican governor would then temporarily fill the vacant seat with a Republican, which could give a greater majority to the GOP. It would lessen Reid’s chances of bringing the Senate back under Democratic control before he retires at the end of his term, which is his primary goal.
