A 12-year-old girl crashed and killed a man and his dog after her father let her get behind the wheel for practice.

Tomas Mejia Tol, 42, of Houston, Texas, has been charged with criminally negligent homicide and endangering a child.

The article goes on to state the following:

It happened at around 4pm Thursday when he allegedly let his daughter drive around the Beverly Hill apartment complex in Fountain view.

According to ABC 13, neighbors said Enrique Vazquez, 47, was walking his three dogs when he was killed.

Police believe the girl used too much gas, sending the black Ford Explorer forward and into Vazquez and his dog before hitting a tree, KHOU11 reported.

Mejia initially told police that he was driving the Ford, but the unidentified 12-year-old had allegedly confessed to officers, telling them her father let her drive for practice. Witnesses also disputed Mejia’s claim.
