Actress Amy Schumer pledged not to do any commercials for the Super Bowl this year to support former NFL player Colin Kaepernick.

Schumer took to Instagram on Friday and she asked her representatives not to book her for any of the major advertisements.

The article goes on to state the following:

“I know it must sound like a privilege ass sacrifice but it’s all I got,” Schumer wrote. “Hitting the NFL with the advertisers is the only way to really hurt them.”

She previously starred in a 2016 commercial for Bud Light with comedian Seth Rogen.

Friday thought. I wonder why more white players aren’t kneeling. Once you witness the truly deep inequality and endless racism people of color face in our country, not to mention the police brutality and murders. Why not kneel next to your brothers? Otherwise how are you not complicit? I think it would be cool if @maroon5 backed out of super bowl like @badgalriri Did. I personally told my reps I wouldn’t do a Super Bowl commercial this year. I know it must sound like a privilege ass sacrifice but it’s all i got. Hitting the nfl with the advertisers is the only way to really hurt them. I know opposing the nfl is like opposing the nra. Very tough, but don’t you want to be proud of how you’re living? Stand up for your brothers and sisters of color. And the hottest thing a guy can do is get down on one knee. Not to propose but to reject the treatment of his teammates by this country. Anyone who says its disrespectful to our military please read up on the fact that a lot of veterans are proud of what @kaepernick7 is doing and fully support him. What are your thoughts?

  1. She is not smart enough to figure out that is money out of her own pocket, man what a sacrifice she and kapper made. I am sure all of the families of dead military and first responders really appreciate their sacrifice.

  2. I care not what she does or who isn’t watching the commercials. They kept getting raunchier and raunchier after the first wardrobe mishap caused a stir among the more immature fans. . I will not watch the half time till they bring back the Budweiser horses.

  3. I haven’t watch any NFL games since Kapernicki started kneeling for the National Anthem. I had three three children in the military and we all thought it was disrespectful. If they don’t like this country and our flag, then they should leave it. Not only that, when they showed what they thought were the best commercials of the football game, they were mostly stupid and I couldn’t even figure out what they were selling. You’re right Victoria, some of the best commercials were the Budweiser commercials, especially the one with the Clydesdale colt. Loved those commercials.
