When the suicide bomb went off at Ariana Grande’s concert in Manchester, England Monday, the singer’s mother was sitting on the front row.
TMZ reported that Joan Grande was about to go backstage to see her daughter when the explosion occurred, and was surrounded by several other panicking fans who were attempting to leave.
The final song had just ended when the bomb went off, killing 22 people and injuring 60 others.
Joan reportedly gathered up a group of about 10 kids and took them backstage with her, and stayed with them until they were able to leave the arena safely.
It was announced Tuesday that Ariana Grande has suspended the remaining performances of her European concert tour.
