It’s been revealed that Jesse Arreguin, mayor of Berkeley, California, has been identified as a member of a violent, far-left group known as “BAMN,” “By Any Means Necessary.”

Arreguin’s Facebook page shows him belonging to BAMN, which is formally described on Facebook as “The Coalition to Defend Affirmative Action, Integration & Immigrant Rights, and Fight for Equality By Any Means Necessary (BAMN).”

BAMN members have engaged in violence, and the group is affiliated with the violent antifascist, or antifa, movement, according to the Daily Caller.

In Sacramento, California, “BAMN member Yvette Felarca attacked a protestor and punched him in the stomach several times outside of a white nationalist group’s rally,” according to the report, which noted that Felarca is also a public middle school teacher.

Prior to Milo Yiannopoulos’ planned speech at UC Berkeley, Arreguin tweeted, “Using speech to silence marginalized communities and promote bigotry is unacceptable. Hate speech isn’t welcome in our community.”

Yiannopoulos’ speech was subsequently cancelled after violent antifa rioters caused violence and destruction on campus, even beating one man until he was left unconscious. During the riot, Berkeley police mostly stood by and watched.

Arreguin put out a tweet the next day, claiming that he “abhors violence,” stating, “The rioters who descended on Berkeley do not represent my values or Berkeley values.”

It was later revealed that the antifa involved in that riot have ties to George Soros.

Further incidents of political unrest have taken place on Berkeley’s campus since then, the most recent taking place last weekend, when antifa and Trump supporters clashed again.

Masked antifa members caused chaos, with one member, who has since reportedly been identified as Diablo Valley professor Eric Clanton, even smashing a Trump supporters’ head with a metal bike lock.

Conservative author Ann Coulter was supposed to speak at UC Berkeley next week, but security concerns have caused her to reschedule.
