WASHINGTON — Climate change crusader Michael Bloomberg announced Sunday he’ll pony up $4.5 million to fulfill the annual US commitment under the 2015 Paris climate change agreement.

Since President Trump announced last year he’d withdraw from the international deal to limit greenhouse emissions, billionaire Bloomberg has stepped forward to fill in the funding gap.

The article goes on to state the following:

“America made a commitment and as an American if the government’s not going to do it we all have a responsibility,” Bloomberg told CBS’s “Face the Nation. “I’m able to do it. So, yes, I’m going to send them a check for the monies that America had promised to the organization as though they got it from the federal government.”
