TUCSON, Ariz. – U.S. Border Patrol agents rescued a 13-year-old Guatemalan girl from smugglers Monday.
According to the agency, agents found the girl’s brother — along with a Mexican woman and Guatemalan child — in the back of a car during an inspection at the Arivaca Road Immigration Checkpoint Sunday afternoon. They arrested the driver, a 62-year-old man from Arivaca, on human smuggling charges.

Agents discovered that a 13-year-old girl, who was the sister of the boy, was separated from the rest of the group and left with smugglers at a home near Arivaca.
After a 24-hour search, agents found the girl in a home with a 24-year-old man who was allegedly in the country illegally.
