(Meredith) — Some beers offer an explosion of flavor, but a Wisconsin brewery is concerned their beer may offer a different kind of explosion.

Lakefront Brewery in Milwaukee has issued a voluntary recall for one of their brews, a kettle sour with cherries and sakura called “My Turn Junk.”

The article goes on to state the following:

The brewery is concerned about the cherries in the brew, which release a small amount of wild yeast. This yeast can ferment and build up pressure if it is kept warm, which can cause the bottles to explode.

“The beer is still delicious and 100% safe to drink,” Andrew Jungwirth, who created the recipe for the beer, said in a Facebook post. “Lakefront just can’t allow it to remain on the market due to the potential liability of volatility.”

It is recommended that the beer be kept cold to prevent it from exploding.
