A 23-year-old man in Texas is left to raise his six siblings after his parents were killed in a car crash.

Ethan Owen, who is the oldest child of seven, said he is learning to be a parent to six following the April 23 wreck near Sulphur Springs, news station WFAA reported.

The family was returning home to Plano, which is 24 miles north of Dallas, from a camping trip when their car was sideswiped by a pickup truck. The collision sent the SUV off the road into a creek where it became partially submerged, according to news station WCVB.

The article goes on to state the following:

Ethan was the only sibling who wasn’t in the vehicle.

Two were rushed to the hospital in critical condition, while the four others were treated for bruises and other minor injuries.

His parents were also rushed to the hospital, where they later died.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family with expenses.
