St. Louis, MO – A St. Louis couple was charged Tuesday in the drug overdose death of their 8-month-old daughter.
Robert Hasenfratz, 52, and his girlfriend Samantha Poppleton, 27, were charged with child endangerment resulting in a child’s death. Hasenfratz also was charged with illegal gun possession.
The article goes on to state the following:
The couple’s infant was found dead about 4 a.m. on May 14 at their home in the 3900 block of Alexander Street, in the city’s Dutchtown neighborhood. At the time, police called the child’s death a “suspicious sudden death.”
A police investigation and toxicology report revealed that the baby had fentanyl and morphine in her system. Charges say Hasenfratz told police he had used heroin in the girl’s room the previous day and had stored drugs and drug paraphernalia near her toys and where she slept.
Poppleton was charged because she was aware her boyfriend had stored drugs and paraphernalia in the baby’s room, court docs say.
