WASHINGTON – Gov. Andrew Cuomo made a second trip to Washington in as many weeks Friday to plead for relief from the GOP tax plan, which he panned as a “gross injustice” that unfairly targets New York and other high tax states.

“It was a declaration of an economic civil war between Democratic states and Republican states,” Cuomo said at the National Governors Association meeting Friday, adding the tax law ensures blue states pay more than red states.

The article goes on to state the following:

“It’s wrong. It’s divisive. It’s poison for this nation,” he added.

Cuomo announced a coalition of blue state governors to pressure Congress to remove the $10,000 cap on State and Local Tax deductions, commonly referred to as SALT.

He’s found allies in the Democratic-controlled House who universally panned the GOP tax plan when Republicans passed it in 2017 as a “scam” and giveaway to corporations.
