The death of Margot Kidder — who played the iconic role of Lois Lane in “Superman” — has been ruled a suicide.
The coroner in Park County, Mont. said on Wednesday that Kidder “died as a result of a self-inflicted drug and alcohol overdose.”

Kidder, who played opposite Christopher Reeve’s Superman in the classic superhero movie, was found dead by a friend in her Montana home on May 13.
“It’s a big relief that the truth is out there,” [Margot’s] daughter, Maggie McGuane, said.
