In the latest Russian collusion “witch hunt” led by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, the FBI will be investigating if the National Rifle Association participated with Russia in any potential election meddling.
Unidentified sources told The Hill and other news sites that the agency is looking into communications between a Russian banking official and the NRA due to their established business relationship.
As mentioned previously, the sources spoke with The Hill, which reported the following:
“The FBI is reportedly looking into whether a top Russian banker illegally gave money to the National Rifle Association (NRA) in an effort to help President Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign.
Two sources familiar with the matter told McClatchy that FBI counterintelligence investigators are looking into Alexander Torshin, the deputy governor of Russia’s central bank.
According to the news service, it is not clear how long FBI investigators have been looking into the activities of Torshin, who is known for his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin and the NRA.”
