John McCain’s former campaign manager said the late Arizona senator did not disclose who he would have wanted to be his successor in the Senate, but that it’s possible it would have been a minority.

“It’s hard to say. You know, he’s always been someone who has encouraged participation in politics, especially in the Republican Party with minorities and women,” Rick Davis said Monday during a news conference. “I think a Hispanic woman probably would have been his pick for a successor, if he had lived long enough to have the opportunity.”

  1. It is not his decision to make!! The people who elected him deserve someone who is not put in the job because of gender or race!! That is a ridiculous way to run a government!! Who ever is best for the job should have the job!!
