REPORT: George H.W. Bush releases statement on Barbara’s funeral

Former President George H.W. Bush thanked Houston officials, churches, and citizens on Wednesday for their professionalism and “obvious care” while helping orchestrate former first lady Barbara Bush’s funeral.

“My family and I thank Mayor @sylvestertrner his terrific staff, @houstonpolice, @METROHouston, @SBCHouston, @StMartinsDOK — and really all Houstonians — for your professionalism and obvious care in making Barbara’s visitors and funeral guests feel so welcomed. Thank you all,” Bush wrote on Twitter.
