REPORT: Illegal aliens increasingly fear deportation in Trump’s crackdown (video)

Illegal aliens around the country are feeling the heat from President Trump’s crackdown on people who have entered – and now live – in the United States illegally. A recent report from North Texas television station CBS 11 found that arrests in their area have gone up by nearly 40 percent since Trump took office, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Reporters visited a Fort Worth tortilla shop that doubles as a restaurant to find one woman who sneaked into the United States during the Obama administration and was willing to talk about how she is planning for her inevitable deportation.

“It’s pure fear now,” she said, only agreeing to speak on air if she wasn’t identified. “If I talk to other immigrants, it’s the same, just fear.”

The woman told reporters how she illegally entered the United States seven years ago to earn enough money to pay for her children’s education in Mexico (schools are reportedly very expensive in Mexico). Since Trump took office, she and her family have been saving money in case they are deported.

“We already bought boxes, so we can start packing our things and sending them to Mexico,” she said.

Her story is apparently designed to tug at Americans’ heartstrings, but the woman seems to understand that she broke the law. However, it appears ICE agents will have to come and take her, as opposed to her family simply moving back to their homeland in Mexico. They certainly have amassed enough money to pay for the children’s educations by now.

According to ICE, 2,586 illegal aliens were arrested in North Texas in the first five months of 2016. In that same time period this year, 4,969 illegal aliens have been taken into custody. That’s an increase of nearly 40 percent.

“It should be 100 [percent],” said Fort Worth resident Tim Bothe, who said that the reason he voted for Trump was because of his stance on illegal immigration.

“ICE will no longer exempt any class of individuals from removal proceedings if they are found to be in the country illegally,” said ICE in a statement.

Under the Obama administration, ICE focused on those illegal immigrants who had felonies and other rap sheets. In the first 100 days of the Trump administration, ICE arrested 4,155 criminal immigrants and 814 non-criminals. In 2016, ICE arrested 2,337 criminal immigrants compared to 249 noncriminal immigrants.

“It’s our country,” said Bothe. “Are we not supposed to protect our rights and our families and all our citizens here in America?”

Earlier today, a report was released by the Texas Department of Public Safety on provided data on the number of illegal alien arrests over the past six years, just for the state of Texas alone.

According to the report, from the period between June 1, 2011, through July 31, 2017, more than 228,000 illegal alien criminals were booked into Texas jails.

The arrested criminals – all of whom were in the United States illegally – have been charged with a combined total of over 606,000 criminal offenses during their criminal careers.

The Department of Homeland Security reported that at least 66 percent (over 152,000) of the arrested criminals had been in the United States illegally at the time of their previous arrest.
