As investigators are frantically trying to decipher the background and motives of Las Vegas massacre gunman Stephen Paddock, ISIS has repeatedly claimed responsibility for the attack, a claim investigators have been wary of.

Friday afternoon, CNN broke the story that, in addition to his gambling habit, it has been discovered that Paddock took at least 20 cruises, many of them to Europe and the Middle East.

Paddock’s girlfriend, Marilou Danley, reportedly went with him on nine of the cruises.

An unnamed law enforcement officer reportedly told CNN that the cruises included stops in Spain, Italy, Greece, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates.

In an interview Friday, CNN host Brooke Baldwin asked former FBI profiler Mary Ellen O’Toole, “We have this just in. Sources telling CNN the gunman took 20 cruises, many of them to foreign ports in Europe and the Middle East. So investigators are trying to put a profile together. Is that of significance to you?”

O’Toole responded, “It is because it gives us a lot more insights into what his behavior was like on those cruises. What was he doing? Was he also involved in doing surveillance of other locations internationally? Was he traveling with other people? If so, who are they?”

She added, “That would give them additional people to interview. What was his behavior like? Were these specific kinds of cruises? In other words, were they all gambling cruises? What were his losses and what were his winnings? It just really strengthens the overall view that they so desperately need of this individual.”

Investigators are trying to put together a timeline of the killer’s activities to learn what led up to his murderous attack on Sunday night. He opened fire from his 32nd floor hotel room in Mandalay Bay, shooting upon the crowd of over 20,000 people who were attending an outdoor concert, killing 58 people and wounding almost 500 more.

In addition to all the weapons Paddock had in his hotel room police found his car, a brand new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Touring, in the hotel parking garage, filled with 50 pounds of Tannerite and two suitcases of ammunition.
