Members of the press on Monday criticized President Trump for raising the American flag over the White House to full staff, two days after Sen. John McCain’s death.
Mark Knoller, White House reporter for CBS News, tweeted out that the White House flag was at full staff Monday morning, after it was flown at half-staff over the weekend.
The article goes on to state the following:
The current code calls for the flag to be lowed on the day of a congressman’s death and a full day after. But past practice has seen the flag lowered for several more days, and Knoller said flags often remain at half-staff for lawmakers until they are buried.

FULL STAFF: As American flags across the nation continue to remain at half staff to honor John McCain, the flag on top of the White House has been brought to full staff, less than 48 hours after the senator and war hero’s death. https://t.co/DZUsRMtUXM pic.twitter.com/Ooz3c5yCSR

Imagine going to work today at the White House only to find out that your boss is playing a game with the American flag in order to give the middle finger to a dead war hero
Imagine it being the thousandth indignity you’ve witnessed working for this person and still not quitting

“He doesn’t even have the respect to fly the White House flag at half mast for John McCain. He cares for no one and nothing.” https://t.co/3Kifoby2ec

If you’re surprised at all that the Trump White House would do the absolute bare minimum required by law when it comes to the flag being lowered to honor Senator McCain, you clearly have no concept of the kind of petty man that sits in the Oval Office.
