President Trump’s former personal lawyer Michael Cohen tweeted his support for US intelligence agencies and berated Russia on Monday in a clear rebuke of his old boss’s Helsinki press performance.

“As I said to @ABC @GStephanopoulos, ‘I respect our nation’s intelligence agencies who determined that Russia, had in fact, interfered or meddled in our democratic process,’” Cohen tweeted on Monday evening.

The article goes on to state the following:

“I repudiate Russia’s effort…and call on all Americans to do the same.”

Former FBI Director James Comey challenged President Trump to sit down for an interview with a “serious journalist,” after the commander in chief spoke with Fox News’ Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson for interviews following his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki.

Less than an hour after his sit-down chat with Hannity aired on Fox News, Comey, who was fired by Trump last spring, snarkily wondered whether Russian-government-controlled news agencies Sputnik and RT were “unavailable.”

“Having sold out our nation on an international stage, Mr. Trump will now explain it all to Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson? I’m guessing RT and Sputnick [sic] were unavailable. He owes it to our nation to sit down with a serious journalist,” Comey tweeted.

The article goes on to state the following:

Earlier, he added his voice to a chorus of critics of both sides of the aisle unhappy with Trump’s press conference with Putin, in which he openly questioned the work of the U.S. intelligence community, which last year concluded that the Russians meddled in the 2016 election, in which Trump was elected president.

“This was the day an American president stood on foreign soil next to a murderous lying thug and refused to back his own country. Patriots need to stand up and reject the behavior of this president,” Comey said.
