A New Jersey couple driving to their wedding died after a tractor-trailer hit their vehicle Wednesday.

Kathryn Schurtz, 35, of Fanwood, and her fiancé, Joseph Kearny, were killed after the accident on Interstate 78 in Berks County, according to Schurtz’s obituary. The two were headed to their wedding, which was to be held in Pittsburgh, Pa.

The accident left the couple dead and three others injured after the driver of a tractor-trailer couldn’t slow the vehicle down for traffic. The tractor-trailer slammed into the couple’s car causing a chain reaction crash that ultimately involved four other tractor-trailers in addition to the couple’s vehicle, LehighValleyLive.com reported.
