WASHINGTON – Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., praised workers from Wayfair, an online home goods website, for planning a walkout after the company sold furniture to an organization that is managing migrant camps along the U.S-Mexico border.

“Wayfair workers couldn’t stomach they were making beds to cage children,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. “They asked the company to stop. CEO said no.”

The article goes on to state the following:

“Tomorrow, they‘re walking out,” she continued. “This is what solidarity looks like – a reminder that everyday people have real power, as long as we’re brave enough to use it.”

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., who is a top-tier candidate in the 2020 Democratic field, also tweeted that she supports the walkout.

Wayfair employees announced the walkout after the CEO of the company refused to bow to their demand to cancel a $200,000 order of beds for a border detention facility.  This comes amid Democrats’ outrage over the “inhumane conditions” that illegal alien children have to endure at the overwhelmed border detention facilities.
