REPORT: Police getting warrants to nab extortionists in Kevin Hart sex tape case

Actor and comedian Kevin Hart was recently forced to reveal some embarrassing and hurtful behavior after someone with a damaging video threatened to out him.

Choosing to own up to his mistakes, Hart addressed the evidence his extortionists had in a video message to his family. Now, law enforcement officers are hunting down the extortionists.

The comedian took to Instagram to post a lengthy speech, apologizing to his wife, Eniko Parrish, and two children, for an unspecified incident.

According to TMZ, Hart had been caught in a video engaging in “sexually suggestive” behavior with an unnamed woman. They say that during a very graphic portion of that encounter, Hart’s face was obscured. As the video continued, suspicions of infidelity were raised.

Hart captioned his apology: “Sending so many apologies to my wife & kids. I gotta do better and I will. I’m not perfect and have never claimed to be … I love you all.”

In the confession video, which can be viewed HERE, Hart says the incident was a “bad error of judgment” and that he “should make smart decisions,” acknowledging that recently, he hadn’t been.

In the first of the three clips his extortionist threatened to reveal, Hart is seen playing around with a woman in a nightclub, then it cuts to a bed. The room is dark, but creaking and slapping can be heard.

Still, the popular comedian said he preferred to “fess up” to those mistakes rather than allow someone to extort money from him.

On Wednesday, TMZ reported that police had been “busy writing multiple search warrants,” honing in on the suspected extortionists.

From TMZ:

Law enforcement sources say the declarations in support of the warrants will outline reasons they believe their targets may be the ones who contacted Kevin’s people and made 8-figure demands in return for keeping the tape under wraps.

We’re told the warrants, which still need to be signed by a judge, will ask permission to seize cell phones, computers and other electronic devices. As we reported, the extortion demands were sent by emails that were encrypted.

Police suspect the sex video was shot on an iPhone, so authorities are interested in finding that device, in particular.

Montia Sabbag, the woman in the video alleged to have engaged in intercourse with Hart, maintains that she had no knowledge of being recorded in Kevin’s Vegas hotel room, although TMZ suggests the police may be interested in her as a target of their investigation.

Hart has two children with ex-wife Torrei Hart – 12-year-old daughter Heaven and nine-year-old son Hendrix. He is now married to Eniko, with whom he celebrated his one-year wedding anniversary last month, and is expecting another son with her soon.
