The vast majority of Republicans approve of President Trump’s decision to give $12 billion in emergency aid to U.S. farmers, according to a poll released Sunday.

More than three quarters of Republicans, at 78 percent, are in favor of farmers receiving the economic boost, while only 22 percent disapprove of the measure, per the CBS News 2018 Battleground Tracker survey. About a third of Democrats approve, the survey reported.

The article goes on to state the following:

The aid, intended to help farmers affected by retaliatory tariffs imposed by traditional trade partners in response to the Trump administration’s tariffs on imports from China and Europe, among other countries, will be provided through the Agriculture Department’s Commodity Credit Corporation, which provides price supports for farmers.

  1. I recall hearing President Trump say recently that OUR farmers would take a hit in the short term but we will take care of our farmers and when this is over the deal we make for the farmers, they will be really, really be happy or words to that affect. So, looks like art of the deal happening here. After all, we are the breadbasket of the world and everybody’s got to eat so let’s just sit back and watch this unfold.

  2. The people complaining that some items are going up don’t seem to want to give Trump a chance to reverse this problem. I guess they were happy other countries are getting 25% plus tax from the US and the US gets 2% tax if we got anything. I guess they were happy with that I’m not
