Multiple Japanese government sources have reported that China and Russia have launched several intelligence-gathering vessels to follow the USS Carl Vinson as it heads toward the Korean Peninsula.

According to reports, the two navies hope to track the movement of the nuclear-powered U.S. aircraft carrier and other U.S. ships that are believed to be in the waters around the East China Sea and heading north toward the Korean Peninsula.

The deployment of Russian and Chinese vessels appears to be aimed at sending a warning to the United States.
