New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) on Tuesday announced the appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate the allegations into state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.

Schneiderman was the subject of a Monday night report in The New Yorker in which multiple women accused the powerful Democratic AG of physical abuse and using his power to intimidate them into silence.
