COLUMBUS, Ohio – The State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy has changed course on its ban of hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine as coronavirus treatments following the governor’s urging to do so.

Beginning Thursday, pharmacies, clinics and other medical institutions were to be prohibited from dispensing or selling the drugs to treat COVID-19, according to regulations issued by the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy. They could still be used in clinical trials, said Cameron McNamee, director of policy and communications for the board.

The article goes on to state the following:

That regulation change has since been pulled back by the board though. Instead, the board now plans to re-examine the issue with the assistance of the State Medical Board of Ohio, clinical experts, and other stakeholders to determine its next steps, according to an announcement.

Governor Mike DeWine tweeted about the change. He wrote:

“.@OhioRxBoard has reversed their decision on hydroxychloroquine, and I believe that was the right thing to do. I believe their process in arriving at the decision to ban hydroxychloroquine for treating #COVID19 patients was fundamentally flawed.

“I believe they should have had a full hearing on this that sought out additional medical advice. I’m asking @OhioRxBoard and the @Ohiomedboard to thoroughly look at this issue as the science and understanding of #COVID19 and how to treat it continues to evolve.

“As Governor, I do not and should not have a position on the use of this drug for treating #COVID19 patients. We should leave this up to doctors and scientists. I expect the medical board and the pharmacy board to examine this issue based on the best science.”

  1. I am a retired Registered Nurse And I saw a video of the infamous Fauci say in a speech that this drug was the drug of choice for treatment against corona viruses and it wAs in 2014. In 2017 he said in a speech that President Trump would have a pandemic while he was in office. He is corrupt. I doubt if the videos are still on utube.
