Reports have surfaced that President Trump’s attorney will file a complaint against former FBI Director James Comey for leaking his own memo to The New York Times.
During his testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday, Comey admitted that, via a friend, he leaked his memo to the press. The memo detailed his conversation with Trump in which the president said he hoped that Comey would let go the FBI investigation into former national security adviser Mike Flynn.
CNN reported that the president’s outside counsel, Marc Kasowitz, will file complaints against Comey with the Justice Department inspector general and with the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Trump took to Twitter Friday morning to react to Comey’s admission, tweeting “Despite so many false statements and lies, total and complete vindication…and WOW, Comey is a leaker!”
