REPORT: Trump & Putin to Meet

According to The Sunday Times, Trump’s first international stop after he is sworn in as president will be a visit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The U.K. newspaper claims Trump’s team told British officials that their first overseas trip would be a summit in Iceland with Putin. The trip is being planned to take place a few weeks after the inauguration on Jan. 20.

The trip would be a page ripped right out of Reagan’s Cold War playbook. Shortly after the Republican president took office, he traveled to Reykjavik and met with Mikhail Gorbachev.

According to The Sunday Times, Donald Trump wants to meet with Putin about nuclear disarmament. It is said that Trump wants the meeting to be with Putin outside of Russia.

The superpower get-together has not been officially announced by either side. Either way, if the report is true, and if it does happen as outlined, the U.S. liberal media will have plenty to say about it.
