Report: Trump will pull out of Paris Agreement on climate change

President Trump has decided to withdraw the United States from the Paris Agreement on climate change, two sources with direct knowledge of the decision revealed.

Axios reported that a team, including EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt, is working on how the withdrawal will be executed and deciding whether to initiate the three-year withdrawal process stipulated by the agreement or exit the underlying United Nations climate change treaty. The latter would accelerate the withdrawal process, yet be viewed as more extreme.

Along with his own instincts, Trump’s decision to withdraw was likely influenced by a letter he received from 22 Republican Senators—including Mitch McConnell—that insisted on a clean exit from the Paris Agreement.
