(WKOW) — An Uber driver accused of injuring and having non-consensual intercourse with a female passenger will serve time in jail.

Doteh Mensah, 37, Fitchburg, pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery for the November 2017 incident.  He was originally charged with second-degree sexual assault, but prosecutors dismissed that charge based on a lack of evidence.

The article goes on to state the following:

Mensah was sentenced to one year of probation where he cannot be employed as a commercial driver or have direct or indirect contact with the victim.  He was also sentenced to 45 days in jail, nine of which he has already served.
